This page explains how TaxAttorneyVA builds, verifies, labels, and displays directory listings.
Data sources
Listings may originate from attorney or firm submissions, law-firm websites, professional directories, public government and bar records, public business listings, Google Maps business data obtained through third-party data services such as Outscraper, and other lawful public sources.
Imported listings
Bulk imports are intended to speed data collection, not replace editorial review. Imported records may initially be marked unclaimed or unverified. We use identifiers such as Google Place ID, business name, city, phone number, and website to reduce duplicate listings. Imported ratings are labeled with their source rather than presented as TaxAttorneyVA reviews.
Verified profiles
A “Verified” label indicates that directory staff completed the verification workflow in effect at the time of review, which may include checking professional identity, public bar information, firm information, and contact details. Verification does not mean that TaxAttorneyVA endorses the lawyer, guarantees good standing after the verification date, or guarantees any outcome.
Claimed profiles
A “Claimed” profile means an attorney or authorized firm representative completed a claim process. Claimed status does not automatically mean verified status.
Sponsored profiles
Sponsored profiles are paid placements and are labeled. Sponsorship does not change review moderation, credential verification, or editorial standards.
Sorting and matching
Directory results may consider the visitor’s selected city, tax problem, language, consultation preferences, text relevance, profile completeness, ratings, experience fields, and other directory data. If a paid placement is displayed outside the ordinary order, it should be labeled as sponsored.
Corrections
Professionals and visitors may request correction of an inaccurate listing through the Contact page. We may ask for documentation or compare the request with public records before changing a material credential or identity field.
